Flu Shots and More Featured at Second
Annual Siena Health Fair
October 27, 2002
On Saturday, October 19, more than 400 Siena residents participated in
the second annual Siena Health Fair. Sponsored by the Summerlin Hospital &
Medical Center and hosted by the Siena Community Association, the Health
Fair was held from 8:00-11:00 a.m. in the social center.
"We had a wonderful turn out. In addition to appreciating that they
didn’t have to stand in line at the drug store to get their flu shot, our
residents had the opportunity to meet with a variety of medical and service
providers," Wayne Ireland, Siena’s director of fitness.
Some of the services that were available were hearing screenings, blood
pressure checks, diabetes screenings and a variety of blood tests including
CBC, Chemistry 7, Lipid Profile, HIV, Blood Type, Basic Iron Studies,
Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA), Glucose, Liver and Glycohemnoglobin.
Several health care providers also were available including a dentist,
physical therapist, chiropractor and podiatrist.
"The Health Fair is a great event for our residents and we look forward
to hosting it for many years to come," said Ireland.
