Siena Reaches Milestone with 1,000th
Sale
July 7, 2002
Recently, Gladys Griswold purchased a home at Siena that not only is the
1,000th home to be sold at the adult community, but is also the
third home purchased by Griswold at Siena.
Siena Sales Associate Ann Cropper assisted Griswold on all three of her
recent purchases. "It’s a honor to be a part of such a momentous community
milestone," said Cropper about the 1,000th sale. "I have sold new
homes in Summerlin for the past 12 years and Siena is what I consider to be
the best of the best."
A native of Southern California, Griswold has lived in Southern Nevada
for the past seven years and was introduced to Siena by a friend. "A friend
of mine had purchased a home within Siena and that’s really how I gained
exposure to the community," said Griswold. "In addition to the homes that
were available, I was very impressed with the sense of security I felt as
well as the variety of amenities and activities that were offered."
Griswold, who is the owner of several businesses, also found Siena to be
a great investment. "Being at Siena is like being at a resort and I think
snowbirds who are looking to rent for several months will find the community
very attractive," said Griswold, who plans to lease at least one of her
three homes that are expected to be built later this year.
The three homes purchased by Griswold will be constructed on golf course
homesites that are located along the greens of the Siena Golf Club. And, now
through August 31, when someone purchases a golf course homesite at Siena
they will receive a golf cart in addition to a tiered incentive credit
package.
"While each golf course home purchase includes a golf cart, the tiered
incentive credit package is based on the homesite premium," said Jimmy
Jones, Vice President of Sales. "The purchaser will receive between $2,500
and $6,000 in incentive credits, depending on the value of the purchase
made."
Golf course homesite buyers will be able to use their incentive credits
on a wide variety of options including golf merchandise, lessons or rounds;
food and beverage; lifestyle enhancements including massages, manicures,
fitness classes, events and personal training; home owners’ association
dues; and Design Studio purchases.
"With fewer than 1,980 homes planned for its 665 acres, Siena was
designed to offer our residents a quaint village-like atmosphere with a
density of a little less than three homes per acre for the entire
community," said Paul Smith, Sunrise Colony Company senior vice president
and project manager for the Siena development. "Nearly one-third of those
homes will front the Siena Golf Club, which ribbons its way through out the
entire community, and lends itself to Siena’s overall flow and beauty."
Located on the southwest edge of the Las Vegas Valley, within the
award-winning master planned community of Summerlin, residents find an adult
community like no other. Here, set between the natural beauty of Red Rock
Canyon and the sparkling lights of the Las Vegas Strip, Sunrise Colony
Company has created a world designed for relaxation and rejuvenation named
Siena.
According to Smith, Sunrise Colony Company specializes in the development
of resort style communities, with more than 30 years of experience
throughout the Southwest. "At Siena, we’ve taken our company’s legendary
resort community concept and applied it to an adult community, where at
least one resident of each home must be no younger than 50 years of age and
children under the age of 19 are not permitted as permanent residents.
Within its guarded gates, private streets, and patrolled neighborhoods,
Siena’s residents have access to an unparalleled variety of recreational and
social activities to enjoy including golf, swimming, dancing, bocce ball,
tennis, craft clubs, social organizations and much more."
The new 13,500-square-foot Siena Golf Clubhouse anchors the Lee Schmidt
and Brian Curley-designed, 18-hole, par-72 daily-fee championship Siena Golf
Club and is strategically positioned to offer magnificent views of the 18th
hole, Lake Siena and the Las Vegas skyline. The fully equipped golf pro shop
offers the latest in fashionable sportswear and accessories along with a
full range of state-of-the-art golf equipment. A full-service restaurant,
The Siena Bistro, features indoor and patio dining in a relaxed and casual
atmosphere. And for special occasions, The Bistro serves as a perfect venue
for social gatherings and receptions. While Siena Golf Club is open to all
ages, Siena residents are extended special rates and preferred tee times.
The community’s 15,900-square-foot Tuscan-themed Health & Fitness Center
features an indoor swim pavilion with a 25-meter pool, spa and series of
two-story windows overlooking the golf course, outdoor pool and spa, lighted
tennis and bocce ball courts. The fitness center is equipped with the latest
cardiovascular and weight-training equipment, exercise rooms, and private
saunas and steam rooms. There is also a comprehensive wellness center run by
the Summerlin Hospital & Medical Center, a full-service beauty salon and day
spa offering a variety of therapeutic massages, sports therapy, reflexology
and natural body treatments.
The interim social center is currently home to a computer lab,
billiards and card rooms and a sewing center. The facility features a
full-time, on-site activities manager and is also the setting for a variety
of classes and club gatherings, from ballroom dancing to watercolor
painting.
Siena’s new 39,000-square-foot Community Center will break ground soon. A
dramatic dome-shaped lobby and lounge will serve as the focal point of this
facility, but the Grand Ballroom will serve as its heart and soul. A
17,600-square-foot building section will be used for such activities as
theater productions, political debates, evening entertainment and much more.
In addition, this magnificent facility will feature a cyber café, a business
center, arts and crafts, cards and game rooms, and will be the hub of all
social activity at Siena. The Community Center is anticipated to open in
Spring 2003.
Homes at the 665-acre community of Siena range in price from the
$140,000s to the $650,000s. Six Italian-themed collections feature 18
single-story floor plans ranging in size from 1,040 square feet to more than
3,100 square feet for buyers to explore.
Each plan at Siena offers three exterior designs and a wide range
of customizing opportunities, including selected plans with courtyard
fireplaces and casitas with separate entrances. Professional interior
designers, headquartered in Siena’s new on-site Design Studio, are available
to assist homebuyers with their customizing options.
Siena’s newest offering, the Portofino Collection, debuted early this
year. Described by Sunrise Colony Company officials as ‘paired homes,’ the
Portofino Collection includes four attached floor plans ranging in size from
1,040 square feet to 1,378 square feet. Base prices begin at $144,500 and
range to $169,700.
To reach the Siena models, take Sahara Avenue or Interstate 215 west and
turn left on Town Center Drive. Take Town Center south to Siena Monte and
turn left. The sales office and model homes are open daily from 10 a.m. to 6
p.m.
More than 30 years ago, Sunrise Company began developing country club
golf course communities in the Palm Springs and Palm Desert, Calif., desert
resort area. Today, Sunrise Colony Company is one of the nation’s most
respected residential and country club community developers, with a record
of achievements including the establishment of Indian Ridge Country Club,
former host of the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic and PGA West, the Western home
of American golf, which hosted the Chrysler Classic, the Skins Game and the
Grand Clam of Golf. Sunrise Colony was awarded the 2000 National Housing
Quality Silver Award for "Commitment to Quality."
In Las Vegas, Sunrise Colony Company is also developing the private
community of Red Rock Country Club in Summerlin and Royal Oaks Country Club
in Houston.
