With the imagination and coordination of on-site activities manager
Kristyne Blake, residents of the active-adult community of Siena have an
unlimited array of year-round events, tours, parties and trips to
participate in.
"We are very proud of the variety of activities we have been able to
offer our residents through our Siena Signature Events series --
everything from on-site Oscar Night celebrations and holiday potlucks to
tours of local points of interest and even a trip to Siena, Italy," said
Blake.
On average, between five and six events and at least five craft-type
classes are scheduled through the Siena social center every month.
Residents of Siena have enjoyed outings to local sporting events
including the Las Vegas 51s and UNLV Rebel’s football and basketball
games. Cultural outings have included taking in performances by the Las
Vegas Philharmonic, University Theatre, Nevada Ballet Theatre, Super
Summer Theater and a trip to the Tuacahn Summer Festival of Theatre in
Southern Utah. Tours to Old Nevada/Bonnie Springs Ranch, the Community
College of Southern Nevada Planetarium, the Air Force Thunderbirds, the
Liberace Museum, the Desert Demonstration Gardens and a Black Canyon
River Raft tour have also proven to be both educational and entertaining
for residents.
"The events at Siena are a wonderful way to meet your neighbors and
new friends," said resident Suellen Levy. Levy attends many of the
social events and is an active member of the Resident Welcome Committee.
"There are some great events in store for our residents during 2002.
Already this year we have presented a special dance event with a
professional dance studio based out of Miami; we’ve enjoyed a special
guided tour of the "Masterpieces and Master Collectors" at the new
Guggenheim Museum; and we are seeing the Las Vegas Philharmonic’s "The
Family’s Guide to the Orchestra" at UNLV. During January, we will also
be taking residents to the Las Vegas Ski Resort for an afternoon on the
slopes and our residents will get a private behind-the-scenes tour of
the Review-Journal’s newest presses," said Blake.
Located on the southwest edge of the Las Vegas Valley, within the
master-planned community of Summerlin, Sunrise Colony Company presents
an active-adult community designed for relaxation and rejuvenation named
Siena.
Within its guarded gates, Siena’s residents have access to an
unparalleled variety of recreational and social activities to enjoy
including golf, swimming, dancing, bocce ball, tennis, craft clubs,
social organization and much more.
Designed by the legendary golf course architect team of Schmidt and
Curley, Siena features an 18-hole, par-72, daily-fee golf course that
ribbons its way throughout the private community. Although the course is
open to all ages, Siena residents are given special rates and preferred
tee times.
The community’s 15,900-square-foot Tuscan-themed Fitness Center
features an indoor swim pavilion with a 25-meter pool, spa and series of
two-story windows overlooking the golf course, outdoor pool and spa,
lighted tennis and bocce ball courts. The fitness center is also
equipped with the latest cardiovascular and weight-training equipment,
exercise rooms, and private saunas and steam rooms. There is also a
wellness center run by the Summerlin Hospital & Medical Center, a
full-service beauty salon and day spa offering a variety of therapeutic
massages, sports therapy, reflexology and natural body treatments.
The social center is currently home to a computer lab, billiards and
card rooms and a sewing center. The social center, which features a
full-time, on-site activities manager, is also the setting for a variety
of classes and club gatherings, from ballroom dancing to watercolor
painting.
Homes at 665-acre community of Siena range in price from the
$140,000s to the $650,000s. Six Italian-themed collections feature 18
single-story floor plans ranging in size from 1,040 square feet to more
than 3,100 square feet for buyers to explore.
Each plan at Siena offers three exterior designs and a wide range of
customizing opportunities, including courtyard fireplaces and casitas
with separate entrances. Professional interior designers, headquartered
in Siena’s new on-site Design Studio, are available to assist homebuyers
with their customizing options.
Siena’s newest offering, the Siena Villas, debuted early this year.
The resort villas feature paired homes and offer four floor plans that
range in size from 1,040 square feet to 1,378 square feet. Prices start
from the $140,000s.
To reach the Siena models, take Sahara Avenue or Interstate 215 west
and turn left on Town Center Drive. Take Town Center south to Siena
Monte and turn left. The sales office and model homes are open daily
from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
