Siena’s activities manager Kristyne Blake never calls the age-qualified village in southwestern Summerlin a "retirement community." "Retired or not, these are people who are getting the most out of life and having a lot of fun," said Blake. Residents in formal attire arrived at the Siena Academy Award dinner party in limousines. There have been golf tournaments, a hike in nearby Red Rock Canyon, an ice cream social, Italian street fair, holiday parties and much more. "Siena is a very social place," Blake said. "It recaptures the traditional values of a small American town – like getting to know your neighbors." The 665-acre Sunrise Colony Company village was designed to give residents fun ways to maintain their health. The community’s 18-hole championship golf course has the Spring Mountains as a backdrop and panoramic views of the city. Its 11,800 square-foot Golf Club will include a pro shop, a learning facility and an exterior dining patio. Siena’s 15,900-square-foot fitness center will have a cardiovascular and weight room, a wellness center, saunas, steam rooms, massage rooms, and indoor lap pool. Additional outdoor recreational facilities will include lighted tennis courts, bocce ball, and swimming pools. Siena’s 40,000-square-foot community center will have arts and crafts facilities, a ballroom and theater, card and billiards rooms, and a computer and business center. Siena, the only age-qualified community in Southern Nevada with a guard-gated entry, has homes ranging from the mid-$150,000s up to approximately $450,000. All single-story and detached, Siena’s 14 floor plans range from 1,200 to more than 3,000 square feet. Bordered by West Flamingo Road, Hualapai Way, Town Center Drive and Russell Road, Siena’s model village can be reached by taking Sahara Avenue west, turning left on Town Center Drive and following the signs. Models are open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. daily.
